CANAL BOATS
Leeds/Liverpool canal
A number of disabled members of LEAPS visited Skipton and Craven Action for Disability, to take a day trip on board the “Endeavour”, a wide beam boat, adapted to take parties of a variety of disabilities on organised day trips along the Leeds/Liverpool canal from Skipton.
Access:
Wheelchair access is via a wide boarding platform on to the front deck. The cabin and toilet facilities are designed to accommodate passengers using a wheelchair and there is an internal wheelchair lift for access to the dining area (although this is only wide enough for certain wheelchairs).
Facilities:
During the cruise the galley is available so that passengers can make their own refreshments, with tea and coffee always on board. Buffet lunches or fish and chips can also be booked in advance. You are very welcome to take your own refreshments too!
Other Information:
The boat can carry up to 12 passengers (including carers), who will be welcomed aboard by a friendly team of 4, who are very helpful and very informative.
This canal boat experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all those disabled people and carers who participated.
